Little Flower

Close your eyes, time to rest,
Goodnight little flower,
I know that you tried your best,
But didn't have the power,
To withstand the raging sun,
That this life can be,
Time for peace has now begun,
Set your spirit free.

Somewhere o'er horizons vast,
You will bloom again,
Angel's eyes upon you cast,
They will know just when,
You are thirsting for the rain,
Drops of love will fall,
Washing away all your pain,
You may drink them all.

Time to rest, close your eyes,
Little flower goodnight,
No more need for soulful sighs,
Grow toward the light,
In a garden on a cloud,
Floating in mid air.
With your blossoms strong and proud,
I will see you there.

Really pretty poem, I loved the symbolism of the flower and a child. It really paints a lovely picture and sounds almost like a sad lullaby. Your loss is also felt deeply throughout this poem, you did a great job. Thank you for entering.
