Watch the river run away from here
with each passing smile and tear
let the memories never fade
but produce new ones as they are made
Growing up is a difficult thing
it's a never ending process of lessons learned
through friends you make and paths you take
there are always embers to burn
What's lost is not forgotten
memories last forever
people don't forget them or the people they make them
and there are many people i've met
who I've made memories with
particulary a certain group from last summer
who I was worried forgot about me
but that's stupid to fear
because most likely they haven't
(I tend to make myself anxious over the most petty and pointless things)
Now the river forks
it doesn't know which direction
go in or which to turn
that represents my life
because I don't know
where the next chapter of it
will lead me into
I am fearful and excited
at the same time
and at this point can only hope for the best.

I love the flow of this piece. The word choice is great and the subject is something we can all relate to... at one point in time or another.
Nicely Done!
