Looking Back

Who is that girl in the old dusty frame
Who strangely looks somewhat like me?
I don't remember her first or last name.
Now who in the world could it be?

Who is this girl on this old album page?
Do you also feel deja vu?
Seems at the time I'd have been 'round her age,
But I don't recall her. Do you?

Who is this girl in this scrapbook of mine?
I'm sure that I knew her quite well
Or else she'd not star in the scrapbook's design.
Yet what was her name? None can tell.

Now who is this girl, but this time not alone?
Who on earth could it possibly be?
I certainly don't like the boy that is shown -
So I know it's not possibly me!

Nice write. Congrats on the gold trophy, it was well deserved. This is a great piece!! Nice rhyming and rhythm!!

  • i swear to god i didn't notice the rhyme till half way through. of course that is undoubtedly the point. i didn't find the words that rhymed particularly awesome, but i can't speak highly enough of the subtlety in which you execute it.

  • Very Nice!

Many an old picture I look at of me, I say the same thing. I'm not the person I used to be. I guess that's what photographs are for, to capture the moment, because it doesn't last...it's only passing.
    Good job!
