Sudden Stop

We were driving down the interstate,
Mom and I

It was pouring rain,
I didnt know i was about to die.

Mom was yelling,
I was screaming.

She was scared,
I thougt I was dreaming.

In the mist of the argument,
I looked up.

Mom screamed,
i was awestruck.

Through the puring rain,
you could see.

A semi truck,
heading right towards me.

I slammed on the breaks,
never thought to wear a seatbelt.

The car slid,
we were misdealt

The truck hit me,
we flew across the sky.

The windshield broke,
there was a outcry.

I felw out of the front,
Mom stayed in her seat.

She watched me,
with much desiet.

I landed in the water,
about 50 feet away.

I never would of thought,
I would die that day.

Mom sat in the car,
as she stared at my lifeless body

She started to cry,
her face was bloody.

The paramedics came,
and took her away.

She only stayed in the hospital,
for one day.

But not me,
now I lay on this cold cart.

Im cold here,
with no beat in my heart.

My mom cries all day and night,
never eating or sleeping.

She just says in her room all day,
quietly weeping.

She says that she cant believe,
she watched me die.

She says she misses me,
but i never leave her side.

She just never sees me,
or hears me.

She cant touch me.
or talk to me.

But im always with her,
always near.

She doesnt understand,
it isnt clear.

She feels its her fault,
which i dont get.

Im with herr from dawn,
to the sunset.

So the years went by,
and she grew older.

And i never left her shoulder

Untill one day,
she felt sick

She lyed in bed all day,
she didnt move, not even a flick.

Then one day she passed,
then in a blurr.

I knew she could see me,
and i seen her.

She was young again,
she was beautiful.

She started to cry,
she was very joyfull.

"I never left your side", i said,
had never left you
I couldnt bring myself to do it, mom
Cause i love you"

She looked at me,
with eyes filled with tears.

She couldnt believe,
i was with her all those years.

So now we wait,
on my dad.

We know hell be hear soon,
and hell be glad.

Cause when we die,
we never leave.

The ones that mean so much,
so just believe.
