Often,
my heart talks,
to me;
I hear its cry,
as in the soul of others,
but I can not listen.
Many times,
I’ve tried to hear;
to grasp, its call -
to enter, its silence
of teaching.
I have shied,
from its beat;
the rhythm,
brings discomfort.
There is no escape,
into the hearts,
those around me.
There is also loneliness -
an un-blessing
to receive.
Now, let me listen;
let my heart, fly,
into the palms of Your hands –
those, with nail markings,
from which cleansing comes,
as blessing.
No longer,
am I afraid -
I give my heart;
no longer,
will I fear –
I gave my heart.
Cleansed,
my heart is friend;
I’ll retain its beat,
giving, to others its keep -
His voice, the Rhythm.

Greetings of spirit and life
Love the oceany seagull flying in the sky background. There are many ways to walk the path and get to one's spiritual destination. I'm glad you found yours. Leaving footprints, made of words, in the sand of your beach. Keep painting in words leading from your heart to the page.

Ah Friend ...
what a Friend we have in Him ... He who stood in our place ... to give us back the beat of our hearts, the deep RHYTHM of our being ...
Cleansed, we reach into the core of Being, and into the hearts of others.
How wondrous to know you truly KNOW His heartbeat, your own heartbeat, and those of so many others ...
Good luck in the contest with this very profound poem.
Groete hier vanuit Eden, jou verloopte Afrikaner!

The term 'Hound of Heaven' comes to mind while reading this.
I like the ending:
'Cleansed,
my heart is friend;
I’ll retain its beat,
giving, to others its keep -
His voice, the Rhythm.'
It's a good place to be.

Beautiful Words
Yes God does fill our hearts with love and we must share it with others. Love and caring come back to us two fold when we share our love with those in need and our friends and family. Your poem was so uplifting this beautiful Sunday morning. I thank you for your friendship. I thank God for blessing me with meeting you. You take care and my thoughts and prayers are with you there in Germany.
Bless You,
Sandy

It's hard to here the heartbeat above the din of reality but your words point the way to the voice of truth and light. Good luck in the contest.

Faith is a constant companion to some and if we hear the beat and listen to its call we can all walk with him. I hear the deeper meaning in this. Love, C
