I see the smile on her face
The pain behind her intricate facade
I know the hurt she hides so well
The desire to fall right through it all
I gaze upon his big, blue eyes
And I see what I lost
His tears remind me of all
I ever did to hurt him
But he doesn't cry for me
He cries for what could not be done
What could have saved our tiny star
A way to be whole
When I look into their eyes, I see
I see his soul, our child
Her hope and dreams, fears and pains
I see the reasons I write
They are all a piece of my muse.
