LUST (O how you sting!)

Scents mix with sweat to
create; dancing bodies that
shake and shiver, with
almost oblivious notice,
of temperature or thought.

Lust, that elemental pleasure, intrinsically wired into the human genome, as a basic prime directive, in order to do that very word you mention here -- create.

Yet many religions call it a sin, a terrible wrong to desire another, odd, I've always thought as without that indelicate passion humanity would be a far smaller breed.

Catholicism teaches one, that it's wrong, Mormonism allows it but insists one must not enjoy it, and odds are in the tenets of most faiths that theme is entwined with conceptual grace.

    Just a few thoughts.

    Thanks for your entry

mm i don't really know what to say to this..i like it i do...but i think it is a little too short for my liking..although it is very simple and it easy shows a lot of meaning and obviously means something to you or you wouldn't have wrote it...no matter if it is for a contest or not...we all sub consciously write words for a reason...to make it relate to ourselves as we write it...and as we write we may think we want it to mean this at the time but when reading it through again you realise just what you really meant if you get me?...sorry i have rambled on...it is really a good poem and i enjoyed reading it. lust can be a difficult thing to control...but i never like to think of it as a sin... everyone lusts over something...lust is a natural and healthy thing...well mm healthy? mm i don't know it can get you into trouble sometimes lol guess that is called learning and growing up lol! would like to read more of your stuff...all the best...and sorry for rambling about stoopid stuff lol xxx

Whew, that was a long one!
Thanks so much for the comment and reading my poem, I love when people do that (even if they may not like it). On a subjective note, the point of the poem I guess was to show how your own religious beliefs (Catholicism for me) can contradict your own personal beliefs.
