Author notes

This simple write inspired by three wooden nickels, which I happen to own. These nickels originally were my fathers, after he passed away they became mine.
** Stimson's Market and the Kar Kwik Car wash were once located in the Rose Park Shopping Center, which was at the intersection of Eleventh W (1200 W) and Fifth N (600 N). The street names were changed to match the numbering system, and the Shopping Center has long since been replaced by a Smith's Grocery Store. My family shopped at this grocery store (in Salt Lake City, Ut.) when I was a child and in my early teens.

What a delightful poem you have penned. So nice to hear about wooden Nickels. My dad use to always joke around saying, "Don't take any wooden nickwels when we went shopping. Thanks for the nice memories of my childhood. You take care my friend. You take care.,

    Bless You,

What.. wooden nickels are real?! Me and my friend used to joke about wooden nickels growing up.. I never thought.. lol Funny how times change though no? I truly like how simple you can keep poetry, I should try this sometime instead of my usual writting styles.
    • Yep, dey's real. However, I wouldn't try spending them in a vending machine. Thanks for your comment and compliment. I do appreciate both.
