A flashlight in the closet is a broken sunset for some.
Other times, creating artificial spiderwebs.
A monotonous tying down and slimming
-a corset for the mind.
So sing the dreams and write them down.
The monsters and the style,
the vintage bonfire
filled with memories and burnt cigarettes.
Falling like ashes slowly
from these interpersonal searches
and here I'll set with a packed suitcase
-an 8X10 that reminds me of ashes
floating in a summer breeze.
If I look hard enough maybe
I'll find that someone that can take me away.
Yes, I've waited for oh so long.
But I can go on.
It's not today.

"the vintage bonfire
filled with memories and burnt cigarettes."
Love it.
"reminds me of ashes"
Hmm, You used ashes twice so it sort of disrupts the flow of the piece.
I love the beginning. It was full of great images and metaphors.
The ending sort of weakened though, I feel.
But overall great job!
Good luck in my contest and thanks for entering. <
