Unforgotten

She dances upon the currents of my dreams;
leaving footprints of love etched into my heart,
memories embraced, never forgotten.

Time smiles on my beloved,

her flower blooming,

scented with the essence of

beauty, and truth everlasting.

I sing, my soul filled with happiness,
wading in pools of yesterdays joy...

living for love to greet me again - tomorrow.

Author notes

Pamela A Lamppa Invite

Prompt:
"The poet's eye, in a fine frenzy rolling,
Doth glance from heaven to earth, from earth to heaven;
And, as imagination bodies forth
The forms of things unknown, the poet's pen
Turns them to shapes, and gives to airy nothing
A local habitation and a name."
"A Midsummer Night's Dream" (5.1.7-12), Theseus to his companions

  • Overwhelming!

    This is so beautiful! I love the way you start this poem out:

    She dances upon the currents of my dreams;
    leaving footprints of love etched into my heart,
    memories embraced, never forgotten.

    This is so expressive & vivid! Then you detail how the memory of this love grows & lifts you to embrace love in the future! Past, present, future all in a romantic & sensitive way that's not gushing, but pure & emotive! Lovely work! Thanks for this. It's so comforting to know that men can express deep emotion & in such an artistically sensitive way! All the best in the contest!

    "yesterday's joy..."
    leaves footprints ~ for me, gives greater immediacy.
    This poem is delightful. It is romantic but sincere.
    You look backwards, at the present and forwards: "wading in pools of yesterday's joy..."; "Time smiles on my beloved, her flower blooming,"; "living for love to greet me again - tomorrow".
    Beautiful imagery, gently woven into a poem of love.
    Thank you poet. I am glad Pamela invited you.

  • well done

    I can really feel the emotion of this piece as if it speak to the images imprinted in my own mind. In someways it feels like the poetry old, just with a contempory flare. nicely Done Image and Visions
