Innocence engraved on a childish face,
Remnants of lighter thoughts.
Memories cherished, lost long ago,
Revealing the tragedy, the fate.
Innocence engraved on a teenager's face,
Darker, the feelings become.
Hopes shatter and fall, a rebel begins,
Succumbing to her call.
Innocence engraved on an open beer bottle,
Life's only true escape.
Drowning the thoughts, the early dawn,
Relieved in the alcohol.
Innocence engraved on a good memory,
The children are doing fine.
Truth in the purity children now bring,
Innocence in childish faces.
Innocence engraved on a brand new tomb,
A mother now come and gone.
A moment fulfilled, a moment gone by,
A memory of life forgotten.

Awww this makes me feel really sad. You took this phrase and bad it your own and it's beautifully composed. It reminds me also about the Logical Song, whereupon you learn to be cynical and things become less beautiful as you begin to learn about the 'real world'.

so sad, yet so true. when people get really down, they use alcohol and think they're drinking away the pain, but only making it worse...
really good! Thumbs up! =D
