Atop a horse shoe canyon
with a view that has no end
amidst vibrant colors of autumn
in meditation I transcend.
At the bottom of this canyon
a melodic babbling stream
echo’s through meditation
completing a cosmic dream.
Each year I make this journey
up rough terrain, I steadily trod
to a place, where I found serenity
quietly communing with God.
Cool wind rustles leaves.
A herald of winters blow.
When they fall from the trees
under blanket of virgin snow.
A peaceful place of beauty
imprinted on my soul
draws me back each year
and helps to keep me whole.

This is lovely! I am very lucky to live in a very beautiful place. I find myself praising God for the spictacular beauty while I am on one of my runs. He has made a beautiful world. BUT while I think it is neat that you have a special place don't get caught up in traditions of this and forget the rest of the time. ( Though I am sure you know this already)
Thanks for entering I loved reading this. -
Very beautiful, thanks for sharing, like your expression and the flow of the poem.

Fine!

Most godly people
have a personal place where they feel close to God.
It is true, here. As you say, it is "imprinted" upon your soul.
Thank you for the poem.

I like: the place you have described, how you described it, the fact that you find God there, and how you return each year like a pilgrimage.
