In the Company of Angels

Breezes blow all around

the grasses about my feet,

where wind subsides

and brings a calm, no sound!

A sudden wind  across my face

what seemed like the brush

of angel wings

Could not erase

The thought they were standing near!

Like feathers gently

Moving like a fan

Such peace around, no fear

My sanctuary in the trees around

had me feeling awed and silent,

I heard a voice say quietly

"You're on sacred ground!

Feeling warm everywhere

I bowed my knees

Silent, and in prayer

Treasuring this precious moment

Knowing God was there!

Author notes

Experiences like this don't happen very often, but there are times when angelic activity is around us and we do not know it..Hope this helps some of us know
angelic signs..

Wow! This is so inspirational, and a great reminder of the miracles all around us even when we do not recognize them. Such a beautiful write here, and an amazing background to go along with it. Very nicely written! Blessings to you, Patty

I don't think there would be a better place to be communing with the angels and God, than in the wide open among nature itself. Okay, a church is fine, but that is manmade...Nature is Gods creation and all those creatures out there are his love. Thanks for sharing this beautiful piece with us.

  • This is a wonderful poem of acknowledgement that God and His ministering servants are ever near. Some call it coincidence or imagination but they can not explain away the peace and joy that is felt when such an occasion occurs. To God be the Glory!

I found the end rhyme in the 1st & 4th lines refreshing...then the last verse you changed. You wrote:

    Feeling warm everywhere

    I bowed my knees

    Silent, and in prayer

    Treasuring this precious moment

    Knowing God was there!

Might I suggest a slight re-arrange to keep the rhyme consistant? Try this:

    Feeling warm everywhere

    I bowed my knees

    Silent, and in prayer

    Knowing God was there

    Treasuring this precious moment!

Just a humble suggestion, it may not reflect what you wish to say, I'm not sure.
