The most precious gift, one can receive
Is someone to love and hold in the dark of night
Someone who wouldn't want you to grieve
Someone who tries to make it all alright
But these people are lent
They are on loan
From heaven they were sent
So you didn't feel alone
Someday God takes them back,
He needs them there
And though it all seems black
Don't you remember the good times you shared
They never really depart
They're just where you can't see
For if you could see inside of your heart
You would turn and flee
But you will see them again, in heaven one day
The aching pain that you feel won't last long
Because your guardian angel wouldn't let it stay that way
They'll bring you back to heaven, to where you belong.

Hope you feel better soon.

Beautiful... Thanks for your entry!!!

A beautiful write. It makes sense perfectly to me, especially the part where you state that these "angels" must return to heaven where they came from. It is comforting to think that when wonderful people leave us, they are in a better place and we will see them again. Thanks for entering my contest.

Yes you are right my son and brother were here on a loan from God for they are truly his in the first place. Oh to love, then let go is so hard but like you said they are in my heart and one day I will see them again. My brother is not gone yet but he is doing very poorly, I just got home from sitting with him and praying with him. Thank you for your lovely poem and best of luck in the contest.
Many Blessings
Much Love
