The tears in your eyes,
like shining stars in the sky,
remind us of the love you have,
for the child that is yours.
i share your pain,
in the loss of a child,
but i tell you,
he is still here.
he lives in your heart,
he lives in your mind,
he lives in your soul,
he lives where you want him to.
your child isnt gone,
he is transported,
your child isnt dead,
his spirit is still alive.
burying a child is something,
no mother should ever have to do,
but it is life,
and we cant change the path,
that god has for us.
you can cry tears of pain,
at the loss of your son,
or you can cry tears of joy,
for the time you spent with him.
you can shut yourself from the world,
and iscolate yourself,
or you can take the world in your arms,
and give it a hug.
you can take things badly,
and cause youself pain,
or you can take things will,
and see the happy side of it all.
your son is never gone,
his spirit lives on,
and he will be here forevermore,
just as long as you remember.
dont look at the bad things he did,
look at the good things,
the painting he bought home,
the smiles you shared.
dont look at the roads he crossed,
without looking both ways,
look at the roads he crossed,
to get as much as he could out of life.
cherish those memories,
like nothing you have cherished before,
take those memories,
and move yourself foward.
you will miss your son,
and it will never get easier,
the pain will always be there,
but one day it will ease.
Author notes
i enjoyed writing this poem, even though i cried, as i lost my own child recently and dont have many memories to reflect on, but seeing others in the same pain shows me that the world is not only unfair to me, but to others as well.

Wow
Wow this is a powerful poem. Yes I to am crying and I"m so very sorry for your loss too. Memories are precious and your right in your poem about everything. I look forward to the pain becoming lessened. This has been such a hard road to walk. Sometimes I do good and then others not so good.
you will miss your son,
and it will never get easier,
the pain will always be there,
but one day it will ease.
Oh thank you for your loving encouragement and that glimmer of hope and that life is what you make it for the most part I guess. It's hard to see past the pain right now but people like you who are so kind are helping me to get through. Thank you so much for entering and best of luck in the contest. Again I'm truly sorry for your loss!!!
Many Blessing
Much Love
