Rain

          Mornings cold and frosty
          Now that winter has arrived.
          It'll be my birthday soon,
          Another year survived.

Right now the rain is falling,
          Soft and gentle soaking rain
Falls like leaves upon a pathway,
          Gets together
          Puddles drain.

          Dry crisp grass from summer
          Has new green underneath
          Soaking,wetting rain brings
          New life beyond belief.

          The garden's almost empty now
Much bare ground can be seen
          Getting ready for the planting
          Welcoming the spring.

This is good. I really loved your first three stanzas, and didnt like your last one quite as much, but it ended it well. Good job!

Rain overpours here so much... I guess I just got tired of getting too much of the good thing. lol.
I now find something ironic... you write about rain but live in a dry land. I write a lot about autumn, something which we don't really have here. Still I love nature... whatever the case maybe.

Please stay a while, you will love it here. No hustle or bustle, no traffic, no accessible entertainment unless you make it yourself, not a lot of people but all friendly, also friendly dogs, cats, chooks and ducks. Ah yes, Lis and I are friendly too.

Our country is said to be the driest continent on the planet. In the inland where I live rain is a beautiful thing. Thank you for your comment.I appreciate feedback, it gives m the incentive to keep going.
      Cheers

Beautiful, Bob. Gentle words that convey so much. A poem of relief from the dry harshness we have lived for so long.

    Your Lis.
