They are shameful, yet desperate
as they find solace in the desire
to be established in this world
of high expectations.
Undernourished to be pulchritudinous.
Deprived of repulsive aliments
which secretly tempt the tastebuds,
full of guilt at the mere thought
of indulging in a ravenous affair.
Devoted to atrophy,
they blow out their candles,
craving the famished,
yet delightful image constantly hammered
into their fragile skulls.
How long can the cranium withstand
this immense pressure before it collapses,
leading to anticipated expiration?
