It could have been as insignificant
as an ant lost in the cracks of a broken sidewalk,
and it indeed was nothing more
than a minuscule fly
buzzing around in the back of his head,
and he just wanted to swat it
and watch the delicious juices run
because he wanted to savor that death
no matter how the spoiled taste of pulp
lingered on his lips and in his mind.
It could have been as little as a spark
drifting away from its home in the fire
into the air where it is only meant to disappear,
and indeed it was nothing more
than a spark that ignited the flame,
an oil rag thrown in to an already burning fire
that mushroomed and only grew,
the pungent smell of hate and destruction
filling his nostrils.
It could have been as innocent
as an infant child that has yet to learn
a thing about desire and longing,
and indeed it was nothing more
than a little, insignificant child
that decided to explore his limits
and play with the fire in his heart.

poor lil fly
Lovely. One of your best<33333
I like how you dramatisized it by talking about firee/destruction. Although I thought there was imbalance because you make the narrator seem older because he can picture the "juices" so poignantly, and then at the end you say he's an infant, or like an infant. You might wanna change that justt to child.
But watever, this rocks, a lott

yeah, he's supposed to be that way. If you knew the character, he's somebody who is a child, but on the inside, is basically the devil.
Scary things in this world we live in huh? Thanks for the comment!!

I've never seen the anime Monster but felt I didn't have to as this piece has a way of capturing you in regardless. I love the comparisons.. it could have been but was something else entirely different. Genius!!
Well done & goodluck in the contest
