A cool dude summer to remember

Summer 1972, Pleasant Hill Creek -
bubbling with hippies,
smoke-toking, skinny dipping pilgrims.

Friendly smiles, both ends.
Free lovin, peace to all.

That was a summer to remember.
The first summer I swam naked in 14 inches of water.
Sun-burning in places that never knew sunshine.
Sun bathing in small rock pools
with tiny shiner fishes swimming about.

Ahh yes, that was a cool dude summer to remember.

I was at Girl Scout camp when I was about 12 or maybe younger and we were suppose to go skinny dipping but I refused to take off my clothes in front of all the girls...We were in the wildes of the Cascades and for sure there was no one else but us and the counclers around...but no way!!! It wasn't until I was much older...15 or 16 that I finally went skinny dipping in Monument Lake at night in January in Colorado Springs...yep...ask Catz about that She did too...What fun to read about all the fun each of us had as kids or adults...We need to hang on to those memories and give them a go once in a while...Good entry and good luck in the contest...

lol i love the bit where you wrote "Sun-burning in places that never knew sunshine."
This is a great write Cindy and i think it would have been awesome being around in the 70's although i was around in 1972 but was only 2 years old. I really enjoyed the read and the background is perfect

And she's still skinny dippin' and goin' strong !!
right, Cindy?? This is a vividly spoken summer of of peace and love... it was free love, too wasn't it?? Lol.
I always feel like I missed something back then. By that time all that free love, romping among the flowers was yet to come. By the time it all happened I was already married, had a family and mortgage. You all were so lucky
A good write, Sis good luck in the contest
