another poem about you by me.

you had a slurred speech
weak hands with weary eyes
quick wit that kept my feet off balance
shallow words that were made to break tears

we followed each road
[you always were a step ahead.]
leaving me to trail behind you
i had your luggage in hand
    but your heart was miles ahead.
   
do you even understand all these beautiful words?
      the meaning behind each one?
hand in hand, see the barrel of the gun?
you had it loaded
----->      ----> the bullet painted pink
  pointed directly at my ribs.
                every second glance
                              [was just another shot.]

I was covered in leaves
  I couldn't find the way  out.
      when i broke for the surface
you where no where in site.

i tried to follow the pavement
  chasing every step we had ever made
        but my feet sank into the earth.

do you even remember the day
      [under the street light]
                      you tied our hands together.
  how did you know we were falling apart?
           

I knew you'd never come back
      you're chasing lies.
              I knew you'd never come back.....
