A nuisance Withering my sOul away.

Words...

hook, line, sinkeR

Words...

enSlave me.

WORDS are nothing more than VAGUE MEMORIES

Author notes

This is a form that I have been experimenting with for a while... I know it is a big risk (or at least I think you know I am not psychic but anyways) and if you don't like it that's cool... just thanks for believing in me enough to put me on through.

Love,
Yahiko

  • I love reading work by those who who use their creative skill not only in the poetry but in the form as well. It's a plus plus in my book. *** Not necessary but if its a form, you should name it then write out the form"

To me I see three stanzas:
There are words that can crush our being/soul -- at any age. It is words that bring the emotional pain as tears swell in our eyes.

    As well as:
Hook, line and sinker - Making us build 'trust' in others. If applied together we buy into what is being told and we believe!

    Finally: enslave...
OOOOH, this one was the strongest. We are enslaved by our words and the words of others. An excellent 'simple' example is "I promise..." If the one above it is implied first it strengthens the 'enslaving' words.

The more possibility is those who have been hurt [1st stanza] - then trusting someone new [2nd stanza] brings one to being held 'captive' to their words and feeling trapped in life they don't want. [3rd stanza].

Finally the impact line is the end result of the three stanzas.... Words do make for memories - good, bad and indifferent and affect our daily lives.

Congrats on making this round. I hope I did well on analysising your poem. I enjoyed thinking this one out! Well done overall...

Best of luck in this round,
    Florida Sunshine
