Simpering sweet sounds
silhouetted by darkness
slip, sliding through shadows.
Flittering flute, violent violin
clash, calmly fighting
through dark night.
Intertwining hesitantly,
perturbed by silence,
a beat without a soul-
only anger can find them here.
Author notes
Dark Duet.

I love the imagery. I know a lot about anger. I can definitely relate to this poem. I enjoyed the read! Thank you for entering my contest.

gret sibilance alliteration at the beginning. fantastic
'Flittering flute, violent violin
clash, calmly fighting'
I loved the way you used an oxymoron to describe the way the instruments voices cash and collide. beautifully crafted.
'a beat without a soul-
only anger can find them here.'
What a fantastic ending
a beat without a soul!
when i read it it sounds like a stopping heart beat
and the persnified anger tops this off, well done loved it -
