I sit here staring out the window
As if I may see you standing there
Gloria, you were my best friend, my mom
I think of you and your always in my prayers
But I miss being able to run to you
I need you to watch me from above
When tears fall from my eyes
I need you to wrap me with your love
When I'm scared and lost
Help me find my way
Talk to me when I need advice
You always knew what to say
Why did God make you suffer for so long
To take you to a so-called safer place
Does He know how much I needed you
Oh, what I would give just to see your face
I think He was trying to teach me a lesson
To make me a stronger person inside
I guess it just takes time to heal and move on
'Cause I realize I got stronger each time I cried
Every now and then I just need to know you're here
Ready to catch me when I fall
To guide me on my path of life
Til' we meet again at Heaven's wall

Beautiful poem! I really liked the line, "Cause I realize I got stronger each time I cried". It's so true and something I think more people need to learn to do. Thanks for entering!

I remember well your written story format about Gloria and how good she was to you! Sometimes it can be hard when you are confused and you want that helping hand that is no longer available. But like you said someone who cared about you as much as Gloria did will always be looking over you! Sometime when you think of Gloria just look to the sky and give out your best smile! And you will know in your heart that Gloria is smiling back at you!
