Booty Tale

Aye… raise ye grog ‘n drink ye brew.
From  decks of schooner Laughing Gull,
A pirate’s tale bequeathed to you.
The creed of yon Cross Bone ‘n Skull.

From decks of schooner Laughing Gull,
We sailed across the seven seas,
The creed of yon Cross Bone ‘n Skull,
Beneath white sails that capture breeze.

We sailed across the seven seas,
Sporting a cutlass from our hip,
Beneath white sails that capture breeze
And armed with cannons amid ship.

Sporting a cutlass from our hip
With a gallant crew that shows no fear
And armed with cannons amid ship.
Prepared to fight the Brigadier.

With a gallant crew that shows no fear,
We over took a merchant ship,
Ready to fight the Brigadier.
A thunder sound when cannons rip.

We over took a merchant ship.
We boarded her and took her flank,
A thunder sound when cannons rip.
The scoundrels shall all walk the plank.

We boarded her and took her flank,
With spoils of war, we filled our hold.
The scoundrels shall all walk the plank.
And we would count doubloons of gold.

Aye… raise ye grog ‘n drink ye brew.
So hear this tale that I tell few
A pirate’s tale bequeathed to you.
Spake from lips of Jacq’line LaPue.

    Ha-Harr!!

Shiver me timbers, me fine bucko! I believes you be sailin' under false colours - there be a square-rigged tops'l abaft of yonder fore-and-aft canvas. Shake it loose, and come abreast o' me. Harr! I knew it - you be no frigate-of-the-line, but a full-bodied galleon. Prepare to receive boarders! (And so on, and so forth in similar vein )

    Rollicking good fun!
As the man said, "A life on the ocean blue is better than going to sea", or something like that
Good fun poetry, and worth a re-read of anyone's time. Great stuff.

Such a tale of the sea. What a rich picture. Your poem is immortal, already.

    Bravo!
As a closet afficianado of Pulp and Romance, I do love this poem!

Few do such things here, and no one does it with such class.

    Bawdy Booty Indeed!

Avast! A tale of guns ‘n’grog
How pirates rolled a salty dog
Penned by the hand of a pirate lass
Thine booty poem sure kicks ass!

I love the way you tell such tales. Three very seaworthy bunnies to you.
