Young and old
Stop
Pause
And wish
Hoping that when their coin
Like so many others
Will make their desires come true
Splash!
It cuts easily through the surface
And falls quickly
Down
To stay
To lie with the coins of fellow dreamers
Increasing hope
As it settles in
The sensation comes faster than any IV
More uplifting than the highest ladder
But still as breakable as the softest glass
Shatter!
It is destroyed
Its appearance now
Like debris from a glass house after a foul ball
And not a drop of glue in sight
Until
They pass a wishing well
Hope returns as the coin
Drifts to the bottom
To rest with the coins of the fellow wishers
Hope would be scarce without the wishing well

I loved this poem, how you broke the lines, and the overall tone, like a storyteller's. A unique poem, crafted well. I have to make it a finalist, and thank you for entering my contest.
