Blame It On Me.

The cracks in the world's epicentre,

the lost ship sent out to the sea.

The space craft that lost it's track,

you can blame it all on me.

The war that blares in Afghanistan,

the fierce and bitter controversy.

Don't forget Iraq's deep turmoil,

just blame that all on me.

The hungry children in Africa,

who have nothing left to eat.

The dirty water they intake,

might as well blame it on me.

The children and wives beaten,

painted a tainted, darkened blue.

The cries you can hear around us,

blame me, as it can't be you.

You may as well blame me for,

all the tribulations of the earth.

For I am big enough to take it,

for all that my word is worth.

So blame me for viscious volcanoes

and elusive, destructive earthquakes.
Just push the blame on anyone else,

it's a price that I'm willing to take.

So you might as well blame it on me,

so you don't have to deal with the agro.

The way humanity would gladly pass blame,

onto those who nurture it the most.

Author notes

About how people don't like to admit to doing things wrong, or that they wont help the enviroment or anything like that, just expect everyone else to. Everyone is so quick to pass the blame.

This is also to reference how it seems everything is my fault, even if I'm not actually there and have no way of causing it, therefore I always say 'oh yes the war in Iraq is my fault too, I suppose'.

always blame ... no matter what it is. If we can't blame it on man we will blame it on God.
    Insurance companies like to use that a lot;

Ohh, this is wonderful! So many issues addressed in a simple poem, and it shows how fearful our society is of blame. Thanks for entering my contest!

    You're incredible.
    The emotions are so raw,
and the imagery is so well played out.

a truthful look into the human mind, i must say that i am guilty of it myself, for a race that invented the mirror we sure don't like to look at ourselves esp with blame, keep it flowing and good luck in the contest

    So True!

I totally know how you feel! People are always passing the buck, no one wants to take the blame for anything & then folk like you & I [empaths] feel guilty about everything! Yes, poetry is from the heart [or should be, there are crafters!] & you did touch mine! Now I feel like sitting & rhyming now but I've got to Great job here. Trust you'll do well in the contest!

you have done this amaxzingly sweetie and your words really do resemble a lot of truth that we should all listen to do because we can blame people for so many things and it really is never their fault.well done
