Forever With You

Hear my voice upon the winds
singing tender lullabies
Feel my touch in gentle rains
that fall from summer skies
In calm and gentle waters
see my eyes reflecting back
Know my love, shines through every star
as they brighten evenings dark and black
I am all around you still
I'm never far, Please know I'm near
Hold me forever in your hearts
and I will never disappear

Author notes

I am not very good at this type of poem, but I felt I should give it a shot. Hope it is somewhat comforting

    When sorrow takes a hand
& takes a heart as well,
there is refuge in a poem
where all of us can dwell
    we can write the words
    to comfort and to ease,
your heart is safe with my words
and your sadness I will ease... Love, C

Forever near...What a lovely title for this poem. The background set it off so well.

    In calm and gentle waters'

Feel my touch all around, I'm never far. Love that stanza! Good luck in your contest. ~Sie

Oh, yes, this is a glorious comfort of a write!!! Amazing…such a tender, soothing write…very serene and calm, as well as ardent and beautiful. The language is so touching and superb, and the imagery and emotion are most profound. It reminded me slightly of how Tennyson wrote about reference to nature and his grief in In Memoriam, feeling close with a lost loved one through nature, and how that can put an aching heart at ease and provide comfort, to still feel close that way. This is quite beautiful. Those last four lines are brilliant, and I especially adored the lines, “In calm and gentle waters/see my eyes reflecting back/Know my love, shines through every star/as they brighten evenings dark and black” Very well done write!

You did a wonderful job hun.. You do really good dark stuff, but you showed that you can do just as good with light hearted stuff as well. I really liked this.. You should try this "new" style more often.. Best of luck hun.. *hugs*

Thanks Angel, The dark stuff just flows so easily, but this sort just seems to be so forced, Glad that you like it though. I couldn't very well write in my normal "style" for a contest such as this ~Bret~
