oh, david i dig this write...
i hear a faux hipster voice in this (i mean that in a good way
), with the "bend over, doll" reminiscent of the beats appropriation of forties cultural references, born anew in the late 60s and early 70's and how the shag carpet seems to capture that mood so perfectly, and of course the metaphor: as kodachrome is to photography, shag is to carpeting...
stanza 3 is a great anchor to the piece, a solid central image to build around...
there is a strong sense of time, or eras passing in this for me and the double entendre of the last line is perfectly dirty..
another strong entry for me to ponder, this is in the running for sure
