Lord, you lent us an angel
For such a short time
We barely got to know him
Before you called him home
He brought such joy and happiness
To all that loved him so
We all miss him dearly
Something I'm sure you know.
Behind those tender eyes
And perfectly chiseled jaw
Some say was an old soul
Who lived his life in awe
He had an inner beauty
A rare style of charm
His smile lit up a room
He was kind to everyone.
His movies made me laugh
Some even made me cry
His talent truly showed
The more time went by
He will be remembered
In all of our hearts
As the kind and gently man
Who's life we'd become a part.
Rest in peace, my friend
Your time here has ended
We'll see you again one day
When we too have ascended.
Author notes
I wrote this poem in honor of Heath Ledger. I know there are people who criticized his choice in movie roles, but that shouldn't take away from his talent as an awesome actor and a loving and caring soul.
