New Life

"There is no time"
she spake to me
her hand resting on her belly
I felt a "silence" fill the cold air
of this beautiful "deep december"

This is "such precious time"
I spoke of the growing life in her "womb"
she turned to me and sighed
said, let us go to sleep

We went to bed and I dreamt
of "anti-waking" restlessly
in "my world at 2 am"
of "babies" and "the garden"
that will grow fast
in the summertime

The seasons changed and
the baby grew and soon
it became "available"
for her to conceive

The Midwife came one morning
and we let my love into the warmth
of "this water" for the birth
she looked at me
I simply told her to "breathe"

I held her hand tightly
she pushed and pushed
and soon there was a child in our arms
I only have love now, she smiled
the pain is lifted
"and finds me no more"

The child cried out "louder"
breathing its very first breaths
I looked at her and then to my love
and we said together
with tears in our eyes,
"Savanna's Beautiful"
and there is so much time

  • Now this was a cleverly done piece, and i loved the image of the babies and the garden, mainly because i read it wrong initially and thought the babies would grow in the garden in summer time

Overall i thoroughly enjoyed the read, and i'm surprised with the calibur of the pieces i'm receiving, thanks for the entry, i wish you the best of luck.
