The Breakfast Club

So as I sat up thinking of all the things I've wanted to say
And poured more coffee I knew I wouldn't drink,
I just let it sit there and get cold, so atleast I wouldn't be alone.
As I mixed in vile amounts of sugar and stared at the coffee whitener
I wondered, coffee mate.

What if we got the wrong one? what if this cup was intended
for a different mate. What if it's not their time. How can I force
one to be with the other, and I poured some in, they didn't mix.

' Not their time' I say to myself
as I pour yet another cup of coffee to remain untouched.
Now as the sunlight becomes apparent and I see
how many mismatched pairs of coffee I have made I realise,
I'm nothing more than a girl in a coffee cup fortress,
with coffee cup theories.

No reason, no fact.

Theorums based on caffeinated liquid and sleep deprivation.
A problem which could be cured had I not been so fascinated
by their inability to connect with one another.

' Just try a little harder, maybe you're the proper mate after all,
Prove yourself and then everything will fall into place.
You want the same things you know, you want to be
Satisfactory.
But you can be so much more than that, you can be perfect. '

That's when I realised I had lost track of whether I was
Talking about my castle of imperfect combinations of dark roast

                                                              Or myself.

Imagery just jumps right off of the page in your words. I love that movie by the way "pourding a cup of coffee i knew i wouldn't drink" clever. Many different ideas can be drawn from that.

    Warmest,

    EPIC

AMAZING. This... is really good. Besides being totally well formed in what it leads up to and you're so FUCKING CLEVER in your coffee cup analogies -they're not crazy at all- you're... so cool. I don't know ANYBODY who would sit their with coffee, and think this up, and then think to write it down, they'd so "oh nobody else will value this" but I DO.
and on another note, how sad.

Rarely am I called epic, though it is a word I use quite frequently. I'm glad you enjoyed it and in all honesty I do this a lot. I sit for days or nights on end analyzing odd things or situations. I'm glad you value my word, as I value your opinion and you as a person.

    Quite an Epiphany

"That's when I realised I had lost track of whether I was
Talking about my castle of imperfect combinations of dark roast
    Or myself."

Your endings always confound me. This is yet another brilliant piece.

    THIS ONE SHOULD PLACE HIGH!
