If I could take a piece of you
I would store you in a jar,
take you out and taste you
when I’m in stale rooms
or unfriendly places.
Wind you around my thumb
so you’re always at my fingertips.

An interesting take on the image. Nicely penned!

This is truly out of the box and one that is very beautifully written with metaphor and emotion! Your imagery is just wonderful! Touching on the loneliness and yearning that the picture portrays!
Thank you for sharing your talented pen with us all!!

Oh, I love this one, specially the last two lines. Gorgeous!

the prompt is a bit too close to home for me - a fragmented life escapes all reason for being, whatever THAT means - my brain's fried, too many antidepressants i spose, i wish i could find time to express the pain - but then again, maybe not...i might be contageous. i miss you as well (btw) and thank you for thinking of me.
blessings and best wishes,

What a gorgeously creative take on the prompt! I love it. Fabulous concept, well done.

This poem speaks to a part of me which is lonely and needs encouragement - we can take words and keep them with us for a sweet taste in a scary place.
The photo led you to an interesting poem. Good luck!

Think there's a jar big enough?
What a wonderful write... it's both sensual and tender... and I think you've captured a very subtle feeling of this prompt... there's a loneliness to it that you've picked up on and related to in your words... Wonderful take...

An interesting take on the picture. Try as I might, I couldn't focus on anything except the lamp..lol. Of course you obviously see it in a different light. Good luck in the contest.
Sincerely,
