Flaming Poinciana against
white cotton candy clouds
in skies of powder blue,
Amethyst blooms, next to tangerine,
and yellows myriad hues.
Scents of Honeysuckle, spicy rose and
sweet Jasmine
waft on the warm summer breeze
like a wild intoxicant
blown in cross the turquoise seas.
Bright sunshine infused with
jeweled drops of rain
I see it all as I drift off,
(trees in a hundred shades of green)
A tropic kaleidoscope,
a psychedelic dream.

yes i agree about the title, too John Denver for me...
this was certainly a look through the kaleidoscope, an explosion of color... since you do mention psychedelic at the end, i think this could be aided by a bit more surrealism... are magic mushrooms considered a natural high...lol
really nice entry

you've really just upped the color- scheme of poetry - you detailed the wonderful
vivid world we live in with a fresh eye and
sweet voice- i am not sure i love the title-
something prettier for
the prettiness of this poem?
thanks so much for entering

Bountiful use of imagery. My favorite line is
Scents of Honeysuckle, spicy rose and sweet Jasmine waft on the warm summer breeze
like a wild intoxicant
blown in cross the turquoise seas.
All the scents and colors make a charming display.

Great flow and rhyme.
Love that last line.
