what joy your smile brings to me.
And so, it's no surprise, your love
has set my heart free.
Now when I think of all the pain that you've borne,
oh how it breaks my heart in two.
So many memories all tattered and torn,
I want to make it all up to you.
Please , please forgive me,
I know not what to do
All I can say is "I'm truly sorry,
and that I've always loved you!"
Author notes
This is a true personal song dedicated to the person I hurt most in my life, yet he loves me despite this and is the most courageous, spiritual and talented person I know.

Sad , but pretty
I thought this poem was very sad. I thought it was good though. The flow worked well and descended softly at the end. If it were my poem I'd try to make it a little more dense with imagery and other information ,but other then that I liked it alot.

I APPLAUD YOU FOR THIS PIECE. JUST THANK GOD THAT YOU HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO BE ABLE TO EXPRESS THIS FEELING. OFTEN IT IS TOO LATE TO SAY I'M SORRY. MAY GOD BLESS YOU BOTH AND KEEP YOU IN HIS TENDER CARE.

I compliment you for the courage to write the poem. Sometime maybe I will be able to do the same for the one I hurt the most.

Sometimes we hurt the people that mean the most to us unknowingly until we are faced with their love and realize just how much they did/do love us.. and by then we have done so much hurt it breaks OUR hearts... Yet they still stand by us and smile.. It's amazing what love can endure and what it can do to change a life..
You did such a wonderful job in expressing how sorry you are, and how much they really mean to you.. I really liked the feel of this.. How it seems like you'd do anything for them to forgive you.. I'm glad that you have someone in your life that will love you no matter what.
Thanks for sharing..

Love and forgiveness...two important aspects of relationships! ***Pam***

Very special piece here
Often we hurt another unknowingly and yes it hurts so when you realize it

Thankfully, I've never felt the pain of hurting someone like that, but I have been on the other side...my ex hurt me more than any guy ever has. My friends hate him for everything he said and did to me, yet I still care about him. This was written very nicely.

Now when I think of all the pain that you've borne,
All I can say is "I'm truly sorry,
realizing that one has hurt another in this fashion is a humbling and painful experience. i think we all have had to accept this at one time or another. i know i have. i believe that ALL people can change, if only they are willing. the question is, will i change before it is too late for forgiveness to be given. you wrote this well and i am looking forward to reading more from you in the near future. viyanna rosemarie
ps--i wish you well in this contest you have entered and in receiving the forgiveness. just don't give up, if it is meant to be, God will find the way to bring you two together again.

Wow, this is a touching piece. It's an idea I feel strongly about (and touched on in a poem of mine (called The Message) but you worded it so perfectly here. Unfortunately, whether it be our fault or not, the people we hurt the most are those closest to us. While admitting we hurt them can be incredibly painful, we must apologize for that exact reason; to show that despite how much it hurts, I am willing to recognize how much I've hurt you because I know that that is the only way I can work to make things better, and more than anything else, apologize.
Moving write, one that really hit me.
