sensitive revision.
corporate sip of a deep green tea.
the taste of simplicity
is never free; never simple;
always burns the tongue.
if the most beautiful things
are always easy on the eyes,
then doesn't the ugly duckling
warrant a look of compassion?
whatever you just did
will be poured from
the very vessel
that once contained you.
how beautiful is that?

Liquid imagery always fascinates me. However it gets used it is, consciously or subconsciously, a metaphor for emotion. The vessel contains it, shapes it to itself, but when it is pored out, it spreads and dissipates. So too with emotion.
Interesting write. You work in some very textured imagery.

May your vessel sustain you
Awesome. Thank you, again.

Vessel is the very essence. Thanks

Like fine wine, hopefully, but when the vessel breaks, how would it be to just spread all narcissism on the wind and disappear like an echo?
You poured this from your vessel mindful... and it is beautiful! ~ K

if beauty is skin deep, you should see me on the inside...

had a pet sheep once, its name was Danni, cuz i named him, and he was sick and got hurt in a tornadoe in pennsylvania is 1954 ... uncle bud gave him to me and i always visited him and uncle bud kept him happy and healthy for me and i like to hug his head and he would go baaa!! the ugly duckling is always the coolest one, except when he or she isn't, in which case, there isn't probably a cooler one ... and, not only that, but whatever you do is called karmic or sinful or redemptive ... and so, yeah, yer right ... so it might not be the beautiful thing, and it might be ... Danni died in 1960 and i'm glad i spent time with him and taught him how to be my cool little buddy ... he was a good sheep ... and this is a good poem you wrote here, dude!!!!!
sometimes i get out of sink with myself

simplicity is the most elusive
desire of all- your question works well here
a simple meandering
or not? not.
wonderful work

I am never a big fan of questions in poetry (in a literal sense), but I think you have applied them in a way which allows them to feel less forced. Your first stanza is my favorite. I wonder if poetry could ever hop like that, without your pen? Doubtful. A poem must reel me in and this did that. You also included tongue imagery which often pops up in my poetry...I seem to have some obsession with mouths and the like. This is good and well worth the wait for a new poem from you.
