What lies beneath

Missing image

Concealing your identity
to the naked eye.


Fooling people
thinking you are perfect.


Seeing beneath the surface
your true monster within.


Trying so hard to convince others
only to be left standing alone.

Your mask hides your features
and your wicked stares.


However it can never hide the comments
that you have made.

Trying to see what others see,
just the smiles and the glitter.

{Failing each time.}

Yet I still hope

that next time I may succeed,


only to be fooled again.

    great write sare, i find the 2 line-break a bit choppy as spacing influences the tone on how i read a poem, but that could just be me all in all its a great take on the prompt, i think we can all identify in one way or another!
