Life's a perfect dream,
constructing webs we weave.
All is not what it seems,
but still chooses to deceive.
Make merriment, be jolly,
the country's national creed.
Ignoring the error of folly,
consumed by horrible greed.
From slumber, we must wake,
double edged swords have duality.
Look what's at stake.
Fantasy is not reality.
One day, you'll come to see,
this world can not be.
constructing webs we weave.
All is not what it seems,
but still chooses to deceive.
Make merriment, be jolly,
the country's national creed.
Ignoring the error of folly,
consumed by horrible greed.
From slumber, we must wake,
double edged swords have duality.
Look what's at stake.
Fantasy is not reality.
One day, you'll come to see,
this world can not be.
Author notes
"The poet's eye, in a fine frenzy rolling,
Doth glance from heaven to earth, from earth to heaven;
And, as imagination bodies forth
The forms of things unknown, the poet's pen
Turns them to shapes, and gives to airy nothing
A local habitation and a name."
"A Midsummer Night's Dream" (5.1.7-12), Theseus to his companions

This is a thought provoking write and although I am of the belief that generally tomorrows technology remedies todays tough problems, I can see your point. We have to stay ahead of the eight ball in order to afford "perfection" in the long run.
Good entry.

Good rhymes
You treated the theme straightforwardly.
I agree: fantasy is a world that even politicians pretend to live in. But, as you say, it cannot be!
Lovely little lyric.

excellent. Many have and do live in fantasy, for its pleasant and all thing are beautiful, loving and nice. Reality can be the same, but the truth helps one to see clearly what life is doing and the way through the fantasy. I feel most of us have had those dreams, of fantasy and things were perfect, but soon awaken to the reality of life. Thank you for sharing.
