Questions

Wordless thought

swept oceans of time

aside to reveal

what once was I...

           what once was he...

he who persisted

where not welcome.

Blackened water of rescue

shamelessly he pursued.

Challenged my thoughts

invaded my mind

my life...

          my heart...

fate parallels

he was

my fulcrum...

         my protagonist...

sword tipped at throat

love as strong as hate,

yet somehow intertwined

melded bodies...

         twisted sheets...

change me he did,

so I bid him adieu.

Consigned to separate,

yet the questions persist

where they are not welcome.

Author notes

The heart is such a strange little monkey. Although I absolutely despise the things he once did. I still miss that son-of-a-bitch!

I did not find this to be ramblings. I've re-read it and find every word to have its place. I think it was well thought out ...
  • To ramble is fine.

Without their heart can any poet ramble in freedom.
Try to write about beautiful things do a short poem with words well placed and roll them in your mind so they resonate in your mind.
Read the above poem and test for yourself what I say.
The points are for encouragement. Best of luck.

Very well written!!!! And I understand what you're saying about still missing him. Unfortuantly you don't have to like a person to love them! I recently found that out!

  • Wonderfully written. It is so easy to see the internal conflict.

the thought of someone being a fulcrum for us is strangely familiar. So is the love/hate relationship. Some day he'll come along; the man you love

    Strange Little Monkey,

Yes, the heart sure is. I hope one day you'll find someone who gives as good as they get. This way you'll know true love when it can be given, forevermore. Much love and light, Timothy aka poeticweaver~ xo
