inocense

no tears to wipe
from tiny eyes

no skinned knees
to kiss all better

no tiny foosteps
running through the halls

no monsters to chase
out of the closet at night

no bedtime prayers
spoken in a child's inocense

no tickling a squirmy little one
to find squeals of laughter

a child
a tiny gift
precious
a chance to protect
a chance to grow
the chance to pass down the best
of the both of you
but there are no cries in the night
no little arms seeking assurance
no eyes looking up in wonder
no fears to solve with a kiss
no more inocense

This was a great poem. If I could cry, I would. But I know this story oh so well. I hate the pain, of knowing my mother can not give birth anymore. And I feel so horrible, that I am the one that she got. I wish sometimes she got someone better than me... Good luck in the contest... I think you deserve to win.

I know I have lived it

I know that in time you will find your love and motherly needs will be passed to all children within your path in life .To take the child others have thrown away for they care not of the blessings they were so given . God needs us as his angels on earth to save his children in such need .Be his keepers of the children left alone
