~ O Leaf ~
You fell without a sound
From a tired old oak to the snow covered ground.
How long did you suffer; you held with such fright,
Through Storm's wicked fury, did it take all your might.
~ O Leaf ~
Was it hard to watch your colors fade ,
From vibrant green, to rusty crumples of decay.
And what of your plight. And who prepared your heart.
Did you know of Season's end; was it purposed from the start.
~ O Leaf ~
Former friend of shadows where shy petals bloom,
And lovers danced with glowflies
Beneath a vernal moon
Did terror strike as lightning tossing memories on the Wind,
When you fell without a sound ,
Beyond a broken hearts mend.
