A long hall

A long hall with grass
People gathered near the old store
Sunny out with small trees growing

Grass replacing the parking lot
Yet the crowd seemed ready for something
Festive feelings, as images dot the outside of the store

An old bench, a broken down vending machine
Cart corrals with some carts still left in them
People milling about in festive clothing

A crescent moon replaced the old store sign
On the window an eight pointed star is painted there
Venders set up booths right on the new grown grass

Inside the store are rows of goods, fresh goods, food, mostly
Some hand crafted items but most of it is sold outside
Bright colored booths, hand made cloth very different

I see a fire pit near an old trash can
Lots of singing, more songs than we are accustomed to
A sign welcome to a brave new world

People are using the old shopping carts
Placing goods into them
No cars

But many carts and some of them are not store carts
Some of them are horse drawn carts
There is a fresh smell of grass, tall trees

A very pleasant place indeed very festive
Banners hung on all the light posts
Some with swirling galaxy logos

Others with stars on them
A wooden structure on the side
Is where all the hand drums are set up

A stall filled with food and water for use by venders
Sign reads vendors help yourself
Another sign Master Artist sign up booth

The towering mountains are stunning
Rugged peaks that shoot up to the sky
A double moon hangs over the waning daylight

A twilight lit up by many fire lamps
With prayer wheels spread out on every booth
Chanting going on with the smell of fresh food everywhere

The long hall once was the exit to the store
Now it has booths in there
Lots of candy and supplies

Author notes

A futuristic department store filled with dream like items for sale in a spiritual future where everyone is content and there is a great festival. A distant world beyond our reach.
