The Age of Enlightenment

Angels in disguise
Devils dwell
The brightest darkness looms
The darkest light swells

Looking over her shoulder
At a voluminous shameful magnificence
That was left behind

Buried deep within everyone
It remains

Thoughts
Memories
Victories and disappointments
Innocence and benevolence
Hand in hand

Sometimes seeming to
Have no rhyme nor reason

Life takes anew
From the bittersweet
Age of the old

Author notes

I am not quite finished with this poem yet I am trying to put so much into it... for now I am satisfied yet I know that it is not yet finished.

BRUTAL AND TRUTHFULL
