When I was a little girl
I had a best friend,
he was only six years old
when it all came to an end.
It was a hard day at school
when they announced the news,
he had gotten badly hurt
and it wasn't just a bruise.
He was out riding his bike
on the side of the road that day,
he was hit by a speeding car
and sadly he passed away.
It was difficult for me
to loose such a good friend,
at the age of six years old
it wasn't just pretend.
I didn't see him at school,
I felt sad and alone,
I wanted to play the games
that only we had known.
I was taught about heaven,
a lot I didn't understand,
it was the day the angels came
and took my best friend's hand.

Excellent write, I was actually taken aback that you could remember such tragedy at the age of six but I suppose it was something very traumatizing for you. Best of luck in the contest and I'm sorry about your friend.

Such a sad event to happen, especially when you were only 6 years old. When we're younger, I think we're more emotional when we lose something, so it would be even harder for you back then. This was a truly heart-wrenching piece. very good job with this piece.
