I clutch at your jacket,
Weathered and torn gray fabric.
My face brushes against yours briefly.
I'm not the person you want, or need.
But you take me, and hold me against you
Sometimes I wish you'd want more than this.
Just touching you makes my heart beat fast,
Breathing in your in scent makes me light headed.
Not knowing when this'll end
-Gives me more fear than you could ever know.
You take my hand and place it against your face
and you murmur something I can barely hear.
It takes my breath away like falling into icy water.
I slide my hand to your neck and pull you forward.
Our noses touch, my heart beats so fast.
I'm scared, but I kiss you, eyes closed.
You open your eyes
I look at you, wondering.
And you smile.
Author notes
I think I wrote this as a fantasy moment, but I can say now... that this has actually happened. And it was beautiful.
