Such large heart to hands
as courage caught in moving
stop-pens; thought
expands to reaches more
reconciled, in certain 'knowing'.
Friend I see, aware you hold
your 'bruise', bathe balm
and bandage tight its want.
Clean-sunlight straight right through
it all
so loosens up the knots
to drop; so
natural luxury of bird song
hits your ears and you respond
accepting that it's yours
it sings in you.
I see myself, my so good friend
who shows me a rope to earth,
from heaven, we practise 'gardening'.
Not knowing even doing.
Me, my waiting becomes infamous,
as I lay in my hammock,
self-tied to dreaming skies.
Breathing up mine,
as you breath yours
on your side of the valley.
But now to move, all loves
find their will in spheres;
our own uniquely different.
Both paced in learning patience,
to quicken each, our reaches more.
Orbit of spacial mirrors
reflections ever turn.
We see each other call
from our same
constellation, laughing, crying
So good the consolation of our friends,
as good as celebrating
all beginnings and all ends.
Only across the bridge, another time
to bring out sharing, drink and music...
You left your brolly here again, but it's safe, X

It can be difficult to write tributes well but you've done so. Without reference to name the images are wonderful and I love the relation between constellation and consolation. The only thing that takes away from it for me is the "Happy Birthday" can't quite say why, maybe that makes it a little less timeless. Really, that whole last bit gives it that bit more personal to the person... argh I hate when I can't articulate what I'm trying to say. Okay, without explanation. I'd prefer it without the Happy Birthday and the last line although, I'd be more likely to budge on the last line staying just because I do like it. If I've made any sense at all...
In any case, it doesn't really matter as it is personal, for Gill and it was indeed her birthday. I didn't need to scroll down to know she would love it.

It makes complete sense.
You know... I wrote this only thinking of our friendship and the similar sentiments we share, leaving me wondering how suitable it was as a birthday tribute. I admit to feeling a little clumsy with the change of focus at the end where I wanted to reconcile this.
You really have such a good and trustworthy eye, the kind which can help open new ideas and also assure, in confirmations which I feel we often need. I know I do.
Much thanks for this.

This is so brilliant. It was such a pleasure to read and flowed so beautifully. The imagery here was wonderful and this poem almost took me far away to another place. "As I lay in my hammock, self tied to dreaming skies".
This line really grabbed me, like I said, I went to another far away land, lol. lovely, lovely write and a beautiful dedication to your friend.

I love Gilly. And thus couldn't help but comment on this when I saw it in the feature box. She has been telling me for quite some time now to read your work and I must admit, I have been very bad and have not. You'll have to forgive me. She has helped me and kenny more than she will ever realize and just is truly a beautiful person. You, my friend, are also a good poet. I will be reading your stuff from now on, if you'll have me, that is.

There is nothing to forgive, apples.
It would be an honour for me to have you read my 'writes' and I'd be very appreciative of your comment if you find any.
Thank you for this one!
I muchly like your 'cat logo'.

Call me James.
I should have mentioned it above.
I am setting aside a chunk of my time for later today to really get lost in your works. I am one of these readers/comment leavers who really wants to leave good comments and not cheesy hic-ups. I found that cat picture off some random site and it just seemed to fit.
And you're welcome! Gilly is such a wonderful friend to me and has been for a long time. So you'll see me later, for sure. When I am more alert and able to leave good and decent thoughts.

Soulful
You have a very unique style Sol which sets you aside from others. Years ago I was given a poem by a friend in England, it was unlike any other I have ever read, until I read this here today. You took me back to that time. Thank you.
Your poem is all soul and wonderful in thought and imagery. It tells so much of the gentle mind who wrote it and his insight into friendship. Your friend is very lucky to have such a poem penned especially for her. It is a diamond.
