Slowing growl, silent whisper,
Monsters in the dark.
Creeking stairs, howling wind,
Tapping at the window.
Squeaky door, yellow light,
Ghosts consume the thoughts.
Senses prick, fear increases,
Hidden under blankets.
Warming breath, razor teeth,
Shivering with fright.
Dripping saliva, chilly nose,
Hard enough to swallow.
Clinking claws, heavy weight,
Crawling on the bed.
Wagging tail, furry fiend,
Lying next to master.
Slowing breath, senses relax,
Best friend is here to protect.
Shaking ceases, fear decreases,
Boy gives dog a pat.

You definitly had some good imagery and a good expression of feelings and thoughts throughout it. I like how you pulled the dog into it in the end. Good job and thank you for entering in my contest.
