The station so very crowded.
It was Holiday once more.
Luggage racked on wheels
rolled across the floor.
Heightened anticipation
of loved ones soon to see.
Tickets held in sweaty hands
that gladly paid the fee.
A respite from the norm.
The chance to let things go.
If even for a little wile
to redirect the flow.
Standing on the platform
a distant whistle blows.
Boarding gates start forming
such eager anxious rows.
Once seated on the train
there standing in the aisle.
The Conductor takes your ticket
as he wears a knowing smile.
All the world is right
when you step outside the fray.
For we all need and deserve
the occasional Holiday.
