There is one in my heart,
One who's in my prayer.
Far from light, near the dark,
Swayed by carnal air.
I know Your love,
On wood, with nails, in flesh and blood
Let her know it, like a dove,
By mercy's sails, to rain and flood.
You know the limits of her soul,
What it takes to break her.
Tear her down, to make her whole,
Pursue and run after.
When she is found, bring her near,
Amidst the settling dust.
Wash away tormenting fear,
Replace it with a trust.
Take my gift and give to her,
The grace You gave to me.
Let it wash, let it cure,
Let it make her free.
