The world is so alive
above this little town,
where all the little people
sleep ever so safe and sound.
Where joy and hope dances
in a swirling, yellow sky.
And love flows like endless rain
but never says good-bye.
A man stands on a mountain,
watching over this peaceful place,
seeing in these tumbling stars,
a smile on humanity's face.
The man understands
that he is naught but a fly,
caught in a blissful wonderment,
underneath a starry sky.
Author notes
I know its probably been done a lot, but Starry Night really is my favorite of Van Gogh's work, so this poem's prompt is Starry Night by the insanely talented Vincent Van Gogh.

Your poem has a very nice flow and rhyme to it. The rhyming also suits your point of view. I love the warmth you have put in this poem and the upbeat take on the picture. Your view reminds me that God is beautiful and so are his creations. Thanks for entering. ~ Joyce
