eyes saturated with prayer,
a sudden stumble to one’s knees
not for self, no, not to go there,
for beauty does not fit with pleas
but in gentle embrace of leafy shade
upon a bud, a blossom, a woman’s face
that soothes the petal, pulse and blade,
and seeks a stroke of cooler place
oh, sweet the golden chapter,
breath of chaff and potent seed,
gather me into your rush and rapture
in autumn’s yellow bleed

Wow this was so beautifulley expressed with colours of autumn, imagery, depth & pure EMOTION. Loved your brilliant metaphor conveyed throughout. Loved these lines especially
"but in gentle embrace of leafy shade
upon a bud, a blossom, a woman’s face
that soothes the petal, pulse and blade,
and seeks a stroke of cooler place"
I'm glad I gave you this picture; as it lead to beautiful inspiration.
Amazing write!
Thanks for entering & best of luck

This is such a lovely poem, and reaches deep to soul. Gathered, soothed and saturated. Wrapped in gold, both poem and soul.
